As he travels to the rail station with his wife, we are given a quick look into her life, which is characterized mostly by contempt from her own husband. Lady Mohan Lal’s life is quickly glossed over, but what little we have paints a rather bleak picture. It shows us what was once a reality for many people and condemns the underestimation of Indian culture.
